چکیده

Global adoption of IPv6 requires the provision of a scalable support for multi-homed sites. This article proposes a multi-homing solution based on the usage of the currently available MIPv6 protocol. It is shown that the MIPv6 protocol is suitable to be used for the provision of IPv6 multi-homing support without modifications in the packet formats defined in the specification, and that it only requires minor changes in node behavior as defined in MIPv6. The resulting solution provides transport layer connection survivability while preserving routing system scalability.

Preserving Established Communications in IPv6 Multi-homed Sites with MEX

A proper support for multimedia communications transport has to provide fault tolerance capabilities such as the preservation of established connections in case of failures. While multi-homing addresses this issue, the currently available solution based in massive BGP route injection presents serious scalability limitations, since it contributes to the exponential growth of the BGP table size. ...

Experimental Performance Studies of SCTP in Wireless Access Networks*

The Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is a new general-purpose transport layer protocol developed by the IETF. Compared with TCP, SCTP has two distinct features: multi-homing and multi-stream. Our work investigates the SCTP performance in various network environments, and its availability for different applications. This paper proposes a SCTP multi-homing scheme as the transport layer...

Securing Host-Based Mobility and Multi-Homing Protocols against On-Path Attackers

Host-based mobility and multi-homing protocols allow hosts to migrate ongoing transport sessions between networks or network interfaces. While such protocols can facilitate vertical mobility in a cost-efficient and accessagnostic manner, they are hard to secure when strong authentication between end points is not available. We present a balanced security solution which protects these protocols ...

An early application of SCTP/mSCTP for multi- homing in netLMM

This document briefly describes the localized mobility problem and the current edge-based solution of IETF, the NETLMM architecture. We implemented a simplified version of NETLMM under ns2, in which, we tried to integrate the multi-homing feature with the use of SCTP/mSCTP in both data plane and control plane of NETLMM. In the control plane, we try to use mSCTP signaling between the AR and the ...

Morpholine Imprinting and Homing Behavior of Kutum (Rutilus firisi kutum) in the Caspian Sea

The effect of Kutum (Rutilus firisi kutum) stock enhancement for homing behavior and imprinting with morpholine were studied during 2004 to 2008. This species is a migratory anadromous fish, spawning in rivers in March–April. It has a group synchronous and single spawning behavior. Total of 15,930 Tagged (ABC Tags) specimens of Kutum fingerlings were released into the Khoshkroud river estuary...
